The Day Before

Suddenly, Port Townsend is the most beautiful place on earth, all over again. The rains have cleared this evening, the sky lightening even at 8:30 p.m. with baby blue and pink and purple clouds. Little kids are giggling down the road. The air is as fresh as the glowing garden.

In the house, it's a different story. The computers hum away with student responses and questions. Two classes end this Wednesday (mythology and composition). One began this week (grammar). It's going to be a busy week for me!

Scott is in charge of our kitchen stuff. It's sitting all over the living room, and there's a lot of it.

The van is already packed pretty full. It will be interesting to see just where it all goes, but I'll take a picture tomorrow!

We say we're getting up at 7 a.m. and leaving at 9. Heading for Spokane and our good fiddling friend Judy's house, where her astounded husband, Rick, will finally see us visit. He's been challenging us for years.

We've packed books, clothes (for every kind of weather, which it looks like we'll get), blankets, dog stuff (mini bed, chuckit & balls, food, treats, leash, plastic bags--good grief), lots of fiddle and banjo tapes, our instruments (doh!), and all that other stuff you pack.
